CEA/AgTech veteran David J. Lee, former AppHarvest president and Impossible Foods COO/CFO, has a new role: CEO and Board Chair of Inevitable Tech Inc., a B2B platform combining artificial intelligence, plant science and automation to boost farmers’ profitability, productivity and predictability.
The Texas-based company’s first product — “Clean Propagation” technology — is designed to ensure healthy seeds and robust seedling growth. Revol Greens is the company’s first partner for the new tech. Inevitable reports a development agreement with AppHarvest is also in place.
Inevitable’s hardware and software can be used on any type of farm, from CEA to open-field. Investors include Breakthrough Energy Ventures, At One Ventures, Zero Carbon Partners, R7 Partners, Amplify Partners, Pathbreaker Ventures and Eniac Ventures, among others.

Lee’s executive team includes Vice President of Plant Science Patricia Romero, former Head of Growing Operations at Bowery Farming and Greenhouse Manager for Dutch grower Koppert Cress.
